Renny Landry believes that if she can just make it to Alphaville, she will be safe for the first time in what seems like forever. Baby, I’m Howling for You by Christine Warren begins with Renny being forced to abandon her car and make a run for where she thinks Alphaville is, that holy grail of shifter cities, a place where it doesn’t matter what trouble is following you, you will be safe. And boy is trouble following Renny with a capital T. Little does Renny know that by seeking safety she will find the one thing almost every shifter hopes to, her true mate.
Mick Fisher is shocked when an injured she-wolf appears on his property just outside the town of Alphaville. Mick does what he has to protect and help the injured wolf when he discovers she is the one thing he never thought to have a second chance with, a true mate. But having loved and lost, the last thing Mick wants is another mate with the potential to destroy what little is left of his heart, but can he really turn is his back on the determined Renny, especially when trouble is nipping at her heels?!
Baby, I’m Howling for You is a fantastic return to The Others series while still being a new story line in a new location. Renny is strong and determined to rebuild her life into what she wants, which I loved about her. And I loved the character of the town librarian! Mick I wanted to smack upside the head a couple of times but that seems to be my normal reaction when reading about stubborn Alpha males. I devoured the book and read the following novella Something to Howl About the next day. While Baby, I’m Howling for You is a set in The Others world, you definitely don’t need to have read any of the previous books and it works well as a stand alone novel. Be aware that there is some use of the F word among other swearing.
