For Pia and Dragos everything looked to be finally falling into place: most of the construction has been completed on their estate, they have moved in, and Peanut (their little boy) is growing by leaps and bounds. In Pia Saves the Day by Thea Harrison, everything that Pia loves is threatened when Dragos loses his memory. While memory loss is never a good thing, it is especially bad when that loss happens to one of the most powerful and oldest beings in the world. When it looks like Dragos is not going to be coming home anytime soon, Pia does the only thing she can, she goes out to find him.
Thea Harrison’s created world is both unique and intriguing and while I don’t usually enjoyed continued stories of main characters (part of the reason I don’t love Urban Fantasy and because I want characters to have their happily-ever-after without continuing to struggle again and again) I have really enjoyed the continued saga of Dragos and Pia. Pia Saves the Day is definitely NOT a stand alone novel. While you don’t have to read the entire series (some of those are novellas but still it is quite a few books) you DO need to have read Dragon Bound and Dragos Takes a Holiday before reading Pia Saves the Day. At roughly 100 pages Pia Saves the Day a a fun quick read but like I said, read the other books first (and Peanut Goes to School is super cute). I like all of Harrison’s Elder Races series and recommend you enjoy the entire series.
