Spur of the Moment by Candace Bowen Early Review

NY taxiBronwyn is a young historical romance author in Spur of the Moment by Candace Bowen Early. She was raised in the foster care system after being found as a newborn in central park. When Bronwyn travels to New York, she makes an unexpected friend in her taxi cab driver. After enjoying a wonderful day in the big apple, a strange woman appears in her hotel room, telling stories of Europe in the 1100’s. This stranger, Gwyllion, give Bronwyn a spur and tells her to spin it so she can return to her “proper” time and rescue her true love from an evil wicca. Bronwyn takes a chance and ends up in a time she really hadn’t expected to be in. She adjust quickly and does everything in her power to save the handsome knight Euric from the evil Jaenelle. Just when all seems to be going in their favor, Jaenelle takes the fated spur and spins in, sending Bronwyn back to present day New York. Will she recognize who her true friends are in both times? Will Bronwyn ever be able to meet up with her true love Euric again? Did she truly rescue him from the evil Jaenelle?

This book was so exciting and I didn’t want to set it down! The author did a fantastic job keeping the reader interested and invested in the two lovers. I kept reading just “one more chapter” and before I even realized what was happening, I had read the entire book. It was one of the few books that I was disappointed when it was over because I just wanted to keep reading about Bronwyn and Euric. The author did a fabulous job showing the passing of time as the book spans over a year and she did an excellent job not making the time travel elements awkward and can happen in novels of this type. Overall it was a fabulous book and I would recommend it to everyone!
