Five Golden Rings: A Christmas Collection by Sophie Barnes, Karen Erickson, Rena Gregory, Sandra Jones and Vivienne Lorret Review

three wise menFive Golden Rings: A Christmas Collection by Sophie Barnes, Karen Erickson, Rena Gregory, Sandra Jones and Vivienne Lorret is a collection of Christmas novellas.

Mistletoe Magic by Sophie Barnes–Leonora Compton has been invited into the mysterious golden circle, tasked with helping a wallflower find a match but Connor Talbot, Earl of Redfirn keeps foiling her carefully laid plans. As plans are crossed, desires change and Leonora starts to wonder if maybe she has finally met her match…

His Perfect Gift by Karen Erickson–Lady Eleanor Fitzsimmons turned down Ashton three years ago under pressure from her father to make a better match. Now Ashton is back and he has unexpectedly inherited the title of Duke from his brother, but does Ashton want marriage or revenge for being turned down?

War of the Magi by Rena Gregory–Ginny Overton is disappointed when Phin Baldwin wins the town’s three wise men figure said to grant wishes, when Phin states he doesn’t believe in their magic Ginny decides to take matter in her own hands to teach Phin, and eventually the town, about the magic of Christmas and the love it can bring.

Her Christmas Knight by Sandra Jones–Lady Nia is shocked when Sir Caerwyn saves her life, last time she saw him she had made a stupid choice that chased him and his love away. Can Nia get back the love she once had and can Caerwyn trust her?

Tempting Mr. Weatherstone by Vivienne Lorret-Penelope Rutledge feels like her life has become one endless rut so when she decides it is time to get out of that rut it is up to her best friend Ethan Weatherstone to protect her from herself, but as things start to change Ethan begins to wonder if by keeping things the same he might be losing something much more precious.

Five Golden Rings  is another cute Christmas anthology, like most anthologies, I liked some of the stories and some of them I didn’t really care for. Mistletoe Magic  reminded me of Emma by Jane Austen with matches planned and love interrupting. War of the Magi was cute with Ginny trying to teach Phin the magic of Christmas, although the story felt like it could have been wrapped up a little more quickly than it was. I loved Her Christmas Knight, Nia had made a mistake in the past that had cost her her love and now she had a chance to get him back, set in medieval times with Caerwyn returning from the Crusades a different man then the boy who left Nia to go to war. At $.99 this collection is a steal and well worth the money for the enjoyment of Christmas stories shared in Five Golden Rings.
