Because you can't judge a book by its cover

Taft Bowman has everything he set out to get, he is fire chief in Cold Creek, he is finishing building his house and is looking forward to having his horses close by but what he doesn’t have is a wife. In A Cold Creek Reunion by RaeAnne Thayne, Taft lost the woman he loved ten years ago after the brutal murder of his parents tore his family apart. Engaged at the time, Taft didn’t handle everything the way he should have and it cost him his fiance Laura Pendleton. But with the return of Laura to Cold Creek Taft must decide if he is going to ignore her return or if he is going to do what he should have done the first time and get his girl.

Laura Pendleton left Cold Creek ten years ago when Taft cut himself off emotionally from her. Now a widow with two children, one of which has special needs, Laura has no choice but to return to Cold Creek to help her mom at her family’s inn. But seeing Taft has brought up unresolved feelings and Laura doesn’t trust herself or her children to get to close to any other man.

A Cold Creek Reunion is the tenth book in the Cowboys of Cold Creek series but is a stand alone novel so you don’t need to have read any of the previous novels (although I had read Dancing in the Moonlight without realizing it was in the same series until I went to write this review). Taft was a good guy who made some mistakes while he was still reeling from the murder of his parents and I really liked his character but it was Laura and her daughter who really stole the show in A Cold Creek Reunion. Laura left Cold Creek and married her husband within a year of leaving, what she went through with her husband was heart wrenching and I could totally understand why she was hesitant to let Taft close again. I really liked the theme of family and the importance of family in this series. I know I rated it a 3 star, which in my book (haha, no pun intended) means it is worth a read but I don’t think I will be rereading A Cold Creek Reunion over and over again. That being said I do recommend reading it.

Why Ratings?
It is true you can't judge a book by its cover, you also can't judge a book's graphic content by its cover. NovelReaction's goal is to provide readers with a graphic content so they can make an informed decision regarding the books they want to read. (Also, to have a great place for people to discuss books.) So sit back, pull up a beverage, and read on!
