Phineas McKinney is a New York City guy or…er…vampire. Wanted: Undead or Alive by Kerrlyn Sparks, Phineas was turned into a vampire by the Malcontents, a group that is out to kill all other vampires so they can control the earth and treat humans as food, and Phineas has vowed to do everything in his power to stop the Malcontents. Phineas just didn’t realize that would mean holing up in a cabin in the middle of nowhere Wyoming with the sexiest werewolf he has ever met. Known as “Dr. Love” to the other vamps, Phin has always believed in love and encouraged his friends to trust their hearts to find their true love but Phin has struggled to find his own love.
Brynly Jones believes all vampires can’t be trusted because they are sexy and seductive and Phineas, actor for the Digital Vampire Network, is the worst of the lot. Too bad Bryn finds herself attracted to the sexy Phin. When the Malcontents are reported in the area near her home, Bryn agrees to help the vampires tracking them down as a favor to her brother, who is married to one.
Kerrlyn Sparks is one of my favorite paranormal authors, her mix of humor and tension keeps me giggling and flipping pages. Wanted: Undead or Alive is a great addition to The Love at Stake series. Phin has played a minor role in several of the earlier novels, turned against his will by the Malcontents Phin accepted a job Angus to work in his security division as a way to support his younger siblings and aging grandmother. One of my favorite scenes is when Phin is shooting a commercial for a vampire product and it is in the style of the Old Spice commercial, it had me giggling. Wanted: Undead or Alive is the thirteenth book in The Love at Stake series but you don’t have to read the previous books in the series to be able to enjoy Wanted: Undead or Alive. I recommend the entire series!
