Unthinkable by Shirley Duke Review

Omar Phillips loves writing horror stories and has become somewhat of a school celebrity.  In Unthinkable by Shirley Duke, Omar’s stories become a true nightmare when his ex-girlfriend goes missing and is found exactly how his latest story foretold.  Now a suspect Omar is ostercized at his school but does find solace in the company of another outcast Sophie Minax.  Visions are now haunting Omar at all times and his uncontrollable urge to write them down is driving him crazy!  Sophie is there to stop him a few times.  Sophie isn’t all that she seems and soon Omar is in a bigger nightmare than he realizes.

This was a quick read and had my interest from the first chapter.  I’m a fan of thrillers and was excited to see where this story would end.  Omar is truly a tortured character who is trying everything in his power to stop his visions to be written down.  Once written his visions come to pass so while searching for a way to make them stop Sophie has the perfect solution.

I found this novel with an interesting plot but it was so short that the author tried to pack too much information in such little space.  If she would have written a full novel more back story could have been told of Sophie and where she came from.  It left me a little unsatisfied since it wrapped up so quickly.

I would recommend this for those who like ghost stories.  Very quick read!
