Summer is winding down, school is starting and we only have a few weeks left to see the summer blockbusters we may have missed with all the traveling and vacationing that has gone on this summer.  Has anyone else felt like this was the summer of remakes, sequels, and books-to-movies? I realize there have been several new films but for the most part it has really felt like Hollywood has struggled to come up with anything new.  I am not complaining, I love/hate it when my favorite books are made into movies, they never are what I pictured in my head but some have become some of my favorite films that get watched over and over (can I hear a Woot! Woot! for Pride and Prejudice). That being said, I decided to look a little closer and what Books-to-Movies have come out this summer. I haven’t seen most of these, being a poor college student I have to wait until they are at the discount theater or released on Netflix, but I do want to see them. Am I missing any on my list? If so leave a comment and let me know.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief
Robin Hood
Marmaduke (comic strip but also book)
Eclipse
Ramona and Beezus
Charlies St. Cloud
Eat, Pray, Love
Nanny McPhee Returns

There are a couple of films coming out this year and I am really excited for, how about you?

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

I will be there on opening night for this one, a bunch of my classmates are dressing up and going together. *squee* I am so excited I can barely stand it and I will definitely be rereading this right before going to the movie.

Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

I loved this series while I was growing and I have been super impressed with the way Disney has the first two films.

  • I love Twilight! I think Eclipse is my favorite summer movie so far. I love Harry Potter too. The Deathly Hallows looks like it’s going to be awesome!

Why Ratings?
It is true you can't judge a book by its cover, you also can't judge a book's graphic content by its cover. NovelReaction's goal is to provide readers with a graphic content so they can make an informed decision regarding the books they want to read. (Also, to have a great place for people to discuss books.) So sit back, pull up a beverage, and read on!
