Vampire-Diaries
Vampire Diaries News and Vampire Diaries Merchandise

I am super excited to be part of the Triple Threat, discussing all things Supernatural, Twilight and Vampire Diaries.

The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith was a trilogy originally published in 1991 but due to public demand Smith wrote a fourth book, Dark Reunion in 1992.  Smith continued the series in 2009 with The Return: Nightfall and released this month The Return: Shadow Souls (trailer below).  Okay, enough with the history lesson, let’s get down to the fun stuff. Damon vs. Stefan, bad boy vs. good soul, which one do you drool over more?

Personally, while I drool over the bad boy, I always place my loyalty with the good boy. There is something that gets me going about the devotion of a good man. His willingness to do whatever it takes to save the woman he loves gives me warm fuzzies.  What do you think?

I have to admit I am one of those few women in the world who does not care for the Twilight series.  It all boils down to Bella, her whining drives me nuts.  (Although I am a total team Jacob!) That being said, I do enjoy a good vampire story and read the Vampire Diaries series several years ago when a friend introduced me to the series.  I like Elena much better than Bella, Elena is not content to sit around and wait for the problems in her life to be solved, she jumps in and makes things happen. Of course, sometimes she jumps in and makes things worse but at least she is doing something.

At the end of Nightfall we still don’t know who Elena will end up, which brother do you think she will choose?  A couple of cool things,visit Savvy Readers, leave a comment and win a copy of a L.J. Smith book. Also, L.J. Smith has a couple of Short Stories available to read for free her site. Finally, a couple of cool sites where all things VD are discussed:

I am very excited to present my first children’s book, Ima Nobody Becomes Somebody! by Brenda Poage, Illustrated by Jenna Murray.  This first grade reader is about Ima Nobody, a first grade reader who hates her name and feels picked on  by the neighbor boy Billy Do-good. As the school year progresses Ima gains a friend and is able to participate against Billy in the school Olympics.

I really liked how Ima didn’t allow her name to become who she was, even though she didn’t like the name her parents gave her.  I also liked how Ima and her friend came up with a plan for her to achieve her goal and then worked hard to achieve that goal.  This is a great book for anyone to read with/to their children to help them know how to deal with bullying that happens in school.

If you check out the author’s website, there are games for the kids to play and stories of real life bullying that children have submitted. Now I am pleased to be able to offer this book for one lucky reader. The contest will run starting today until next Thursday, April 1st with the winner announced April 2nd.  To make this a little more interesting, I want to know what horrible nicknames you were called as a child.  Post a name and be entered to win the contest.  I will start with myself, as is only fair, “four eyes” was the worst, I know, not really that bad as far as things go but it hurt my feelings that someone would be mean like that. Post your comments and win this great book to share!

Blogging takes time, energy, and creativity. But I think I can safely say that most, if not all bloggers love it or they wouldn’t be doing it. To be recognized and appreciated for doing it, well…that just makes it even more worthwhile. I am very excited to receive my first award! I want to sincerely thank Laura from Library of Clean Reads for honouring me with this award!

So what is this award all about? Hazra from Advance Booking, who came up with this award, says it is for “all those prolific bloggers, who read voraciously, blog tirelessly and have made the blogging community such a vibrant place. This award is in recognition of their achievements and their enthusiasm. They are the people who keep me going!”

A Prolific Blogger is one who is intellectually productive… keeping up an active blog that is filled with enjoyable content.

I’m late in posting this but I do want to thank Laura for the great award!

Why Ratings?
It is true you can't judge a book by its cover, you also can't judge a book's graphic content by its cover. NovelReaction's goal is to provide readers with a graphic content so they can make an informed decision regarding the books they want to read. (Also, to have a great place for people to discuss books.) So sit back, pull up a beverage, and read on!
Graphic Ratings*

1 = kissing
2 = kissing, some fondling
3 = descriptive stripping but no sex
4 = sex scene but not descriptive in details
5 = full descriptive sex scene

*I am rating a specific book by an author, not the author's style. If I am aware an author writes a specific way, I will let you know.
